DAVID J. PLACE LL.B - Partner

David was admitted as a Solicitor in 1996 following completion of his legal studies at the College of Law, York.

Prior to joining Mortons in 2000, David’s dealt with a variety of matters including Crime, Personal Injury, Conveyancing, Wills and Probate and Family Law.

Upon joining the firm in 2000, David chose to specialise in the area of Family Law and he has developed a keen interest and a high level of expertise in this field with special emphasis on matters relating to Children and Ancillary Relief matters for high income clients.

David is currently the Partner with overall responsibility for the Family Department; he  is a recognised specialist in this area and holds membership of Resolution - he is a North East Committee Member and the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Children Panel.

David is also the firms nominated Partner with responsibility for complaint resolution.

In addition to his role as Partner with Mortons, David is also H M Assistant Deputy Coroner for the City of Sunderland and Treasurer of the Sunderland Law Society.
