Mortons honours Sunderland’s top Law Student

Mortons Solicitors is delighted to honour Sunderland University’s top law student, Gavin Teasdale who was awarded firsts across the board in last week’s ceremony at The Stadium of Light.
Keen to build on its current relationship with Sunderland University, Mortons’ Associate Giles McCourt is currently a guest lecturer on the Human Resources Management (Employment Law) Course and as such, offering the Outstanding Law Student prize was a natural next step.
Speaking about Gavin’s achievements, Giles McCourt, said:
“I was part of Sunderland University’s first intake of law students, so to be able to recognise Gavin’s outstanding achievements and return to the University is extra special. I’d like to think that by offering Mortons’ support for this award, Gavin feels especially proud to have secured top honours from a University on our doorstep and hopefully, that this success is just the first milestone in an outstanding career in the City too. Congratulations Gavin!”
Speaking about the award, Janine Hobson, Partner, Mortons said:
“Mortons is a passionate local firm and is keen to develop existing links with the University helping to develop local students and to encourage them to strive to be the best. Having students at the top of their game is fundamental to the future of local firms like ours. It was a natural progression from having Giles as visiting lecturer to recognising the top student and we are delighted to present the award to Gavin.”
Gavin is among 3,000 students who graduated last week from the University of Sunderland's awards ceremonies at the Stadium of Light presided over the University Chancellor, Steve Cram.
