Mortons Supports Bid to Build Memorial Wall - Press Release

Local firm of Solicitors, Mortons, is assisting the campaign by Brothers in Arms to build a Memorial Wall within the City to commemorate local fallen heroes from all sections of the Armed Forces. The firm has offered   its services free of charge to the Organisation, as they attempt to set up and register their charitable status.

Senior Partner, Fiona Aitken said of the firm’s involvement, ‘As a local firm we have long history of serving the people of Sunderland and knew as soon as we heard about the campaign that we wanted to become involved. Following a meeting with the founders of Brothers in Arms, to see how we could help, it was apparent that the Organisation needed assistance in registering its charitable status and obviously this is something that we can help with. I am sure that together with the backing of other local firms, we can make the dream of Bothers in Arms and all of its many supporters a reality and I would urge other local business to become involved in any way they can.”

In response to Mortons offer of help, co-founder of Brother in Arms, Janice Murray said, “The setting up and registration of our charitable status is a key step in the success of this project and will help us greatly in the raising of funds.  We are grateful to Mortons for their support and look forward to working with them.”
