| Mortons Supports Portfolio Awards - Press Release |
| Posted on Oct 01 2009 |
Sunderland based Mortons Solicitors are one of the sponsors, for the second year running, of the North East Press Portfolio Awards and it’s surprising just how quickly the awards have come round again.
Since Last years ceremony, the economy has continued to be challenging, affecting both businesses and individuals across Sunderland and the surrounding areas, with business closures and redundancies being one of the most devastating side effects.
Giles McCourt, Business and Employment Associate at Mortons said, ‘The duration and resultant effect of the economic downturn has been felt hard in the region and as a long established local firm, we are pleased to have been able to provide knowledgeable and expedient employment advice to the people of Sunderland in what has been difficult times for many of them.’
It has not been all doom and gloom however and the past year has seen Mortons raise its profile significantly in the field of Business as well as Employment Law.
Fiona Aitken Senior Partner said, ‘Times have been tough for many, but for those firms that took timely advice and reacted to the downturn, things are beginning to turn around. It is important to obtain the right advice for your business but it is also important to celebrate businesses success particularly in such hard times, when only the strongest firms will prosper. This belief, coupled with our commitment to the people and business community within the City and its surrounding areas, is the reason for our continued support of the Portfolio Awards.’
Mortons took its own advice and reacted positively to the recession, starting with its rebrand last year which included some changes in direction in terms of the services it offers.
‘Our staff have worked hard over the past twelve months in very challenging times and our rebrand has been very successful. Existing and prospective clients should be reassured that we continue to offer the same range and high quality of services that we have always provided we have merely added to the services that we provide,’ reassured Fiona.
Mortons offers a full range of advice in respect of: Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Family and Matrimonial Law, Business and Employment, Personal Injury, General Civil Litigation, Wills, Probate and Affairs of the Elderly including Powers of Attorney.
